In order to satisfy compliance as laid down by the Financial Services Authority and of course to do the best job possible, a fact-finding exercise should be carried out, which when done properly takes a lot more than just 5 minutes. A financial picture can be established providing the basis for a reasonable and considered recommendation by Personal Mortgages.

One of the purposes of the fact-find is to highlight any issues that if left ignored initially could be a root cause in seriously lengthening the mortgage process and in some instances which could even jeopardise any agreed sale.

It is certainly prudent to avoid unnecessary delays where prompt action can be seen as good practice. Delaying a full fact-find has no advantage.
